‘Hope & Joy’ Gatherings

An enduring commitment to creating change in the world isn’t easy. With so many gigantic challenges swirling around, the potential for grief and burnout is high. We’ve partnered with ThirdAct in developing a monthly on-line gathering about all this. The approach is simple but powerful: (1) hear inspiring stories from wise people who wake up every day committed to taking on big societal challenges, and (2) hear how they navigate the personal ups-and-downs of their work.

Over time, the ‘H&J’ series will include guests who do good work in the world, from an ever-widening array of backgrounds and perspectives. To date, our guests have included activists, neuroscientists, philosophers, sociologists, filmmakers, authors, storytellers, a physician, a lawyer, and a banker.

Anyone is welcome to join these events. We ask that you respect the idea that most of the attendees are volunteers (mostly from Third Act) who are trying, as best they can, to address the goals and objectives of Third Act while also honoring Third Act’s Working Principles.
